Bernie Sanders doesn’t knows what socialism is. He doesn’t know his ass from first base. He doesn't understand how the world works and he scares me to death.Democrats are eager to re-post Ben Stein‘s comments about Donald Trump. But usually they don’t have so much enthusiasm for the Republican economist who says socialism scares him to death.

Ben Stein  says Bernie Sanders scares him to Death

I am very concerned about the fact that [Bernie Sanders is really resonating. On many fronts.
  1. People don’t realize that socialism equals tyranny. Maybe not immediately but somewhere down the road.
  2. Socialism takes freedom away from individuals.
  3. Socialism usually means slow growth.Although, not always. But usually it does.
  4. Socialism means a cut back in the freedom of people to make their own decisions about their own lives.
I am very worried about that more than the size of government. If government is one or two percent bigger. Its going to mean a bigger deficit. although, we are heading for a default anyway. So, but I am very concerned that people don’t know what socialism is.
I don’t think that [Bernie Sanders] knows what socialism is. I don’t think he knows his ass from first base, as my father used to say.  — Ben Stein
I don’t think that [Bernie Sanders] knows what socialism is. I don’t think he knows his ass from first base, as my father used to say.
Newscaster, paraphrasing: People think Bernie Sanders is authentic.
Well, I am sure if you had heard Lenin speak, or Stalin speak you would have heard a lot of conviction. The fact that someone speak with conviction, doesn’t make them right.
My dear friend Lindsey Graham said about him, “He went on honeymoon to Moscow and he never came back.” [Bernie Sanders] is person who really doesn’t understand how the world works very well and he scares me to death.

On the other hand, I like the fact that people like old Jewish men. I like that a lot. This campaign has very greatly groomed my feeling about the attitude of this country about old Jewish men.

Newscaster, paraphrasing: What about the romanticizing these ideals that have failed everywhere in the world to the point of tyranny? How does that happen with the old guy who should know better and with young people who have great educations?

I have a good answer to that, Charles my dear friend, the fact that a person is old doesn’t make them smart. In fact, my experience is that old people are generally stupider than middle aged people. And the fact that people are in school makes them the stupidest. So, there is no one less educated than a contemporary American college student. It’s a terrifying thing. The people who never went to school at all know more than the mis-education they are given in schools. In schools they are taught to hate America, to be ashamed of America. To hate capitalism. They dont know anything. They are taught everything wrong.

The Republican‘s scare me to death. They scare me too. [Except: ] I love [John Kasich]. I think he would be a great president. Solid, responsible guy.
[Donald Trump] terrifies me…

Other things Ben Stein has said regarding politics:

“[Obama] is the most racist president there has ever been in America. He is purposely trying to use race to divide Americans.”

“That is [Nixon’s] legacy. He was a peacemaker. He was a lying, conniving, covering up peacemaker. He was not a lying, conniving drug addict like JFK, a lying, conniving war starter like LBJ, a lying, conniving seducer like Clinton—a lying, conniving peacemaker.”
